The Theory Of Yin And Yang Philosophy And Tai Chi Thinking In The Reflection Of Visual Language

This paper will research elements of visual language symbol. Symbol and semantic analysis has become a hotspot in the field of contemporary design. However, elements of visual language are with little attention. Symbol of art is a directly and accurately convey the media, which visual language convey to the audience. Play an important role in the communication of human’s thinking, culture and information. Thus it can be seen, the focus of Symbol elements in the visual language expression is higher and higher. For example, Tai Ji diagram is the great capacity image figure. It consists of two black and white fish-shaped patterns, commonly known as the Yin and Yang fish. Aesthetic law of image molding is hidden deeply in the two fish’s pursuing. It expresses the Yin and Yang’s cycle perfectly visually. To be both opposite and complementary to each other is the source of all things generates change philosophy. Tai Ji diagram’s design applies diagram bottom’s reversal successfully. It is intense contrast but unity of fusion. The diagram is perfect interpretation of people’s pursuit of simple psychological.The performance of the visual language can stimulate the audience’s imagination and emotion; it can also set up a communication Bridge between the art and the audience. The image is the important element of the graphic design. It not only is the most frequent and familiar in people’s visual contact and also is the most rich and colorful in the form of visual communication. In the traditional graphic language philosophy, the sparse and dense, movement and stillness, the virtual and real, black and white etc. of dialectical relationship in Chinese traditional pattern is application of composition between Yin and Yang thought. In the traditional model, the most representative is "Tai Ji diagram". Designers reference its form and concept often.This paper studies evolution of the Yin and Yang contradiction doctrine in ancient Chinese philosophy from the angle of the "I Ching" doctrine ("Classic of Changes"), and the formation and development of Yin and Yang contradiction doctrine is associated with the I Ching ideas and wisdom of thinking in a large extent. So,"conversion" exists in "pass", "change" is the result of "conversion", using simple language to express the relationship between changes in the nature and quantity of things. Chinese philosophy revealing the way of Tai (chi), it is not shown on the form of Yin and Yang’s Splitting and merging and movernent change, but based on how to apply Yin and Yang culture to art. This paper research the special form of leaving a blank to explain Yin and Yang culture, including, Huo Qu Bing tomb stone carving and Japan light church. So the culture of Yin and Yang become globalization increasingly.In Xi Xing Li’s article 《The traditional philosophy meaning of some typical symbol in modern China》,in philosophical category of Yin and Yang and modern graphic design, there is a cosmology of "harmony between man and nature" in the symbol of Chinese traditional philosophy. according to 《Ci Hai》(dictionary), it is explained as "Logo","Mark". The Tai Ji diagram and based symbol of character are the most representative. The visual language—"symbol", express modern logo design concept and embodies the Olympic spirit fully.In 《I Ching》(Ancient Chinese Books), Tai Chi was born in "Promise", the Tao gave birth to a life, one life gave birth to two, two lives gave birth to three, three lives gave birth to all lives, and the theory of Yin and Yang has important influence on the contemporary era, especially, the implication of the philosophy principle makes many people with praise for thousands of years in ancient and modern; Chinese and foreign. Yin and Yang thinking is characteristics and core of the traditional Chinese thinking. It is Chinese traditional thinking framework. Painting is a kind of visual art, its artistic language elements such as lines, shapes, light and shade, color, texture, etc.; No matter from the historical literature or from classical architecture, are reflected in "Tai Chi Ba Gua"(eight trigrams used in Taoist cosmology to represent the fundamental principles of reality) and "Yin and Yang" theory.Shi Tian Gan(used cyclically in the calendar and as ordinal number like RomanⅠ, Ⅱ, Ⅲ) according to Five Elements’ generate order to each other is divided into five pairs of Yin and Yang life cycle and mutual restraint. They are five group symbols to reflect the universe cycle rotation frequency, Yin corresponding revolution kinetic energy, speed; xu (the eleventh of the twelve earthly branches) is congenital condition of galaxy. The north water reflect frequency, we regard the five elements of Taoism as the opposites and unified philosophy, or regard doctrine of I Ching and Taoism as nonsense metaphysics, or feeling of Five Elements’ principle is not specific mathematical words and not clear specific physical meaning. Hope can give enlightenment on the world contemporary art through researching the past. China’s philosophy of Yin and Yang and Tai Chi thinking are kinds of strong scientific worldview and methodology. It uses opposite two aspects of Yin and Yang to show and explain all phenomena of the nature and the human society occurrence and development.
