Feng Zikai, is a knowledgeable esthetician, educator in the modern history of China.However, his aesthetic achievements and aesthetic contribution has not been fullyrecognised and excavated, especially in the area of children’s art education. Theobjective of this study is the Feng Zikai’s children art education theory. The overallpurpose of this paper is to collate and summarize the Feng Zikai’s children arteducation theory and mainly focuses on examine the overall outlook and features ofthis theory, including its content,purpose, approaches and significance.The whole text is divided into six chapters:The first chapter exordia, analyzed and summarized the research status of children’sart education of Feng Zikai, and explained the research ideas and methods in thisstudy, then raised the questions.The second chapter outlined the overall appearance and characteristics of Feng Zikaichildren art education theory by studying his life and thoughts.The third chapter focused on the understanding of the basic categories of Feng Zikai’s‘compassion’,‘childishness’ and ‘art heart’ in order to probing the connotation of hischildren art education theory.The fourth chapter first summarized the goal of Feng Zikai’s children art educationtheory that are building children’s pure heart,enrich their taste life, cultivate children’shealthy personality.The fifth chapter mainly discussed three ways in educating children’s art educationtheory of Feng Zikai as follows: personalized school education; family education thatare respect for the nature of children; social education which focus on the life.The sixth chapter discussed the meanings and values of Feng Zikai’s children arteducation theory in the contemporary society. Feng Zikai’s children art educationtheory not only inherited the essence of traditional education but also combines astrong humanistic care.It has broadened the scope of China modern children’s arteducation theory, also enriched the connotation of China’s modern art educationtheory.
