The Aesthetics Thought Of Guo Moruo

Guo moruo is an encyclopedic cultural giant, who has made remarkable achievements in poetry, prose, fiction, historical drama, literature and art theory, archaeology, history, calligraphy, and many other academic fields.He left a precious wealth for human being,especially in aesthetics.From his literary works, we konw that he has his style in literary theory and aesthetics. His aesthetic view integrated outstanding Chinese and western aesthetic achivements and broke through the original theoretical framework of Chinese classical aesthetics. Guo’s thought had undergone a revolutionary development and transition from a Democrats to marxist,and from a Advanced molecule of the petty bourgeoisie to the vanguard of the proletariat. His thoughts influence was quite complex, when his patriotic enthusiasm was greatly stirs by The May4th movement revolution of1919. Guo accepted the bourgeois democratic ideas from the works of Rabindranath Tagore, Goethe, Heine, and so on.On the other hand, he was influenced by the philosophy of pantheism from the works of Spinoza and Zhuangzi. This emotion can not separated from the objective world and human’s life. Guo’s self-expression theory included his strong social desirability which resulted in his emphasis to the independence of art.And he also supported that the art should be applied into the process of our human.Guo also mentioned the problem about how to inherit and absorb the aesthetic thoughts from all over the world.He emphasized the coincident inclination of our thoughts and the continuity of our thoughts’ development.This essay contains six parts which makes a general analysis about Guo Moruo’s literary aesthetic thoughs. In the foreword, It was mainly tell us the research status of modern aesthetic and Guo Moruo’s aesthetic thought. And then,I put forward four chapters in order to make a specific discussion. In chapter one, I introduced the whole life of Guo Moruo and the background of my thesis. In chapter two I started the research about the formation process of Guo Moruo’s thought. What’s more, I also made a research about the issues in the formation process of his aesthetic thoughts. Then in chapter three I analyzed the literary aesthetic thought in Guo Moruo’s essays which included the specific analyzing about his poems,historical plays,and novels. At last,in chapter four,I simply summarized the meaning of Guo Moruo’s aesthetic thoughts and the enlightenment he had brought to us. In the conclusion part, I put forward some immature suggestions on research of Guo Moruo’s aesthetic thoughts. The whole article, the second chapter and the third chapter is the key of my discussion. About the poetery, I attempted to analyze, attempts to analyze the "goddess" and "Star" set. These essays was full of self-expression and subjective emotional which was revealed unconsciously. They were also full of abomination from Guo’s expressionism. And keynotes about his appeal to humanity and love. Guo sat the expression of subjective spirit as the basic purpose of his poem creation. He advocated that the essence of a poem was used to express emotion of a poetry. Guo said, while we wrote a poem we need some intuition and inspiration. For the poem itself,they must based on reality and broke the restrain from all aspects. In Guo’s historical plays and novels, they also shown many important aesthetic thoughts. These works not only overflowed his romanticism but also included the subjectivity, implication, and the special personalities of the characters in expressionism drama. The research about Chinese modern aesthetic should set the outstanding artistic works as the object in order to make a research about the Chinese modern aesthetic culture and conscious. The history of Chinese modern aesthetic was based on Chinese traditional culture,so it must relied on the discovery of Guo’s special aesthetic thoughts. Those aesthetic thoughts, which embodied in his aesthetic works,was an important part of Chinese modern aesthetic system. In this thesis, I mixed Guo’s artistic works and aesthetic theories in order to analyzed and apprehended the main idea in Guo’s works,What’s more, I also found some precious literary aesthetic ideas from Guo’s poems. It was not only a thoroughly study about Chinese modern literature but also a enrich of aesthetic. With the study of Guo’s aesthetic thoughts and literary theories, which has an important meaning about the current construction of aesthetic and our literary creations, we will inherit the essence of Chinese traditional cultures at same time we should keep of advanced steps to create more wonderful literature works and to form a universal aesthetic system.
