Research On Zhu Tianwen’s Novels Under The Metropolis Cultural Context

Zhu Tianwen was born in a literary family in1956and graduated from Tamkang University in1978. Since published her first novel at the age of sixteen, she started on the path of literary creation. Nowadays, she is a famous writer and scriptwriter. In her forty years of writing career, due to sensitive to Taiwan’s social transformation and changing times, Zhu Tianwen’s works have close interaction with the evolution of the social culture and literature trend of Taiwan."Juan Cun" village and Taipei city became two aesthetic space of Zhu Tianwen’s works. By the words, Zhu Tianwen recorded the change of an era of Taiwan. Her works which quite famous for the outstanding artistic achievements are worth people to appreciate and understand.From "Juan Cun" literature to Taipei writing, the subject and content of Zhu Tianwen’s works are very rich, and during this period her artistic technique gradually entered into the mature stage. In these works, the "Juan Cun" village and Taipei city become the direct or indirect object of Zhu Tianwen’s writing.This paper focuses on Zhu Tianwen’s "Juan Cun" literature and Taipei writing, by which be placed under the view of metropolitan culture and multicultural context, we can find that Zhu Tianwen’s novels show us an unique urban landscape and literary vision.In the introduction, this article introduced the general situation of Zhu Tianwen and her works, as well as the research status about Zhu Tianwen in Taiwan and Chinese Mainland.The article comprises four chapters text. The first chapter focuses on the two basic forms of urban culture, urban landscape and urban literature. Then it analyzes the stage characteristics of China’s modern urban literature, and summarizes the current situation of the development of urban literature in Taiwan, which proceeds under the perspective of metropolis culture.The second chapter focuses on the cultural memory showed from Zhu Tianwen’s "Juan Cun" literature and the urban space shaped in Taipei writing. There are so many personal life experience of Zhu Tianwen in "Juan Cun" village, and Taipei is a dissimilatory urban space or rather a roof over their heads that people cannot get rid of. The crossed narrative reflects the crossover of individual memory and city fate.The third chapter focuses on Zhu Tianwen’s discovery of people and things in Taipei, from which to capture the relationship between urbanite and the globalized time and space transformation, to reveal the living condition and survival anxiety of urbanite.The fourth chapter tries to analyze urban elements included in Zhu Tianwen’s Taipei writing, to explore the effects of urban space on Zhu Tianwen’s novel creation, to think how can urban space change people’s living experience, life style and aesthetic orientation, to discussed the influence of urban elements on Zhu Tianwen’s aesthetic orientation, and to grasp Zhu Tianwen’s creative attitude.
