Metropolis Feminine Image Under Metropolis Cultural Context

It is really difficult to divide culture and literature. As the urbanized advancement of human society, urban living experience gets more appearance in literary creation. As the most important contemporary literary style, urban literature is the ecology record for human to explore the read the city. The development of urban literature in China witnessed the development of the whole process of modern urbanization in recent China, and recorded numerous and complicated urban culture under the new historical conditions. This kind of literary aesthetic experience formed on the background of modern city has produced profound effects on the writing, spreading and evaluation of whole Chinese literature. Meanwhile, because of the natural close contact between urban and women, urban women can behave urban culture and urban character best. Writing living state of women in modern urban, exploring the relationship between women and the city has become the main trend of contemporary urban novels. In recent years, more and more urban literature appeared as many women writers invariably throw a sight on modern city .Chi Li and Wang Anyi are the earlier two. In this paper, based on careful reading of the fiction texts of Chi Li and Wang Anyi, especially the novel in past decade, combined with related theory of urban culture, a systematic analysis of the image of women in Chi and Wang's urban novels was carried out to make a comparison of urban cultural identity that the women writers presented in the novel, with the attempt to explore the urban women's unique writing cultural connotation of the city, and the way of urban literature. In this paper, the following areas will be discussed in details.Chapter one,Urban culture urban Cultural Background:First of all, distinguish the concept of city and metropolis. City is the predecessor of metropolis, and metropolis is the highest part of urban development. Secondly, literature is a form of cultural expression; it is of important significance to distinguish urban literature and metropolis literature. Thirdly, card the development process of urban literature in China. Last, described the complicated relationship between urban and female. Chapter two,Wuhan urban women indulge in the city and folk:This chapter first analyzes the cultural characteristics of Wuhan City. And then place Chi Li's novel in the background of Wuhan urban culture to explain urban women's secular value, affection value, and awakening of the personality of urban women under social transformation.Chapter three, urban women in Shanghai under multi-cultural influence:It is relatively more diverse and complicated of Shanghai's urban culture; therefore Wang Anyi's urban novels present a more extensive literary landscape. Wang anyi has paid more humane care on secular women, women drifting in urban, women struggling in desire.Chapter four, Conclusion——Literature view comparison of Chi Li and Wang Anyi. Compared female images in the urban novels of Chi Li and Wang Anyi, it was found these two writers differed greatly in literature view, and they both have unique thinking focused on the urban culture and urban women. It plays an important role to explore what kind of understanding and attitude to modernization and urbanization the writes should have, and where the urban literature should go in the formation of the urban culture under urbanization process.
