Currently in Indonesia, in addition to English, Chinese language is also very important. InChinese language learning, spoken language is the most popular and important. Because betweenChinese and Indonesian there is a large difference, Indonesian people encountered manydifficulties while learning spoken Chinese. This in turn requires a better Chinese teachingmethod. Therefore, the purpose of this thesis are to improve teaching methods and to improvethe quality and efficiency of learning.This thesis employs questionnaires, interviews and observation methods in a comprehensivemanner from the primary spoken Chinese teaching in Indonesian universities. It analyzes theproblem that exists in the primary spoken Chinese teaching in Indonesian universities, points outthe advantages and disadvantages in the current primary spoken Chinese teaching, provides thetheoretical guidance for teaching spoken Chinese in Indonesia to enhance and to improve thequality and the effectiveness of teaching and to improve the capability of the spoken Chineselearners.This thesis is devided into four chapters. The main contents are as follows;The first chapter is the introduction. It introduces the topic basis and meaning, summarizesthe primary spoken Chinese teaching in Indonesian universities and introduces briefly theresearch objects, methods and discoveries of this thesis.The second chapter is the methodology of the research. The main subject are thequestionnaire surveys for the students, interviews for teachers and classroom observation, andthen statistical calculation and analysis of the survey results.The third chapter analyzes the survey results of the second chapter, points out theadvantages and disadvantages of the current primary spoken Chinese teaching in Indonesianuniversities.The fourth chapter gives suggestions for the future development of spoken Chinese teachingstrategies in Indonesian universities. This provides suggestions for teachers in order to solveproblem that exist in the current spoken Chinese classes in Indonesian universities.Last chapter is the conclusion, including the main points of the thesis; the discoveries madein this thesis and the current problems, etc.
