A large number of third-person pronoun anaphora is in Mandarin discourse, because of itshigh abstraction, context-dependent intensity and the highlight main features,the research onMandarin third-person pronouns of chapter anaphora has become an important research topic inrecent years.Unlike other languages,the relationship of Mandarin anaphora is mainly establishedby semantic, pragmatic and cognitive association.Thus,it is necessary to have an pragmatic andcognitive analysis in Mandarin third-person pronouns of chapter anaphora in order to have a fullin-depth understanding of Mandarin chapter anaphora.The third person pronoun anaphora isbased on the relationship between anaphora and antecedent,it can be divided into conventionaland unconventional anaphora two categories, unconventional anaphora is further divided intopragmatic prominent anaphora and no explicit antecedent anaphora.In these three types ofparaphrase from pragmatics and cognitive perspective,the paraphrase of conventional anaphorabases on semantic consistency between anaphora and antecedent, reverse anaphora in pragmaticprominent anaphora emphasizes some functions of chapter,metonymic anaphora emphasizesmetonymic relationship,anaphora of pragmatic variation emphasizes speaker and writer’s specialpragmatic purpose,the paraphrase of no explicit antecedent anaphora bases on mental spacewhich is established by anaphora and relational contextual information.To study the paraphraseof chapter anaphora on Mandarin third-person pronouns can provide the basis for paraphrase ofother anaphora phenomenon, it is a major factor contribute to decode the chapter.
