The Research On The Reason And Regulation Of Information Gap In Chinese Oral Communication

Information gap in oral communication is referred to a kind of phenomenon thatinformation encoders transferred is not completely understood by decoders. Information gapin oral communication has the features of dynamics, adhesion and temporality. Based on theresult of decoding, information gap can be divided into consumed information gap, redundantinformation gap and converted information gap. The reason of the information gap in oralChinese communication could be analyzed from two aspects. From the interior of linguisticssystem, it involves phonetics, lexicon and grammar. From the exterior of linguistic system, itinvolves information discrepancy and context of utterance. Information gap in oral Chinesecommunication can be eliminated. It can be regulated through utilizing Co-operativeRelevance Theory, and Mechanism of Information Feedback in Control Theory andmisinterpretation during the communication also can be eliminated, thus improving people’srate of success in daily communication. Therefore, it is valuable to research on the reason andregulation of information gap in Chinese oral communication.
