Oral communication is a means and way for people connection and cooperation. The tourguides’ oral communication is their vocational oral communicative activities which a tourguide communicate with tourists, express feelings, interpret scenic spots and spread culture.As a tourism ambassador, the most important basis is good communication emotionallywith tourists. Students majoring in tourist guiding in secondary vocational schools mustpractice oral communication, master the skills and methods and improve oral communicationability. Only then can they be equal to tourist guides. As the understanding of the importanceof oral communication ability, oral communication teaching in China has caused social andeducational experts concerned, many of the Chinese teachers in teaching practice research.However, due to the impact of the lack of theoretical guidance, the quality of teachers,teaching system constraints of the shortage of resources and other factors, compared with thedeveloped countries, China’s current oral communication teaching is still in the state of low,no satisfactory teaching effect. Improve language literacy, improve students oralcommunication ability, is an important task of Chinese teaching in Vocational school.This paper studied the oral communication ability of secondary vocational schoolstudents majoring in tourist guiding. Through investigation and interview of tourismundergraduates and graduates, the author understand the lack of oral language.Using the method of questionnaire, literature review, interview and interview, the paperexplore the oral communication training of secondary vocational school students. This thesisconsists of four pats. One, Introduction; Two, part one: The significance of oral Englishteaching for the secondary vocational school students. Three, part two: The investigationalstudy and analyses in oral communication competence of the secondary vocational schoolstudents, Through investigation and interview of tourism undergraduates and graduates, theauthor understand the lack of oral language; Four, part three: The methods of improving oralcommunication ability of the secondary vocational school students. The author objectivelyanalyzes the status quo of oral communication of tour guide students, combines the Chineseteaching practice experiences of tourism, is aimed at the oral communication ability teachingof tour guide students and tries to establish a set of oral communication teaching system abouttourism in secondary vocational school. According to specialized characteristic, carries on the simulationworkplace, cultural etiquette speech contest, creating conditions to participate inthe practice.As a Chinese teacher of secondary school, the author know more about the demand ofstudent employment and realize the importance of the communication ability for studentsduring over one decade. By studying these, the author explore an effective teaching methodand hope the research can prove beneficial reference for Chinese teaching reform insecondary vocational school.
