Hayao Miyazaki, a very famous Japanese animation director, has created many works which are good enough to compare with works of the two animation giants Disney and DreamWorks. Although the subjects of his animated films are different, he embodied such ideas as love of life, respect for nature, desire for survival as well as " symbiotic " relationship between human and nature in his works, which have made deep impression on the fans around the world and has been widely recognized and highly appraised, and they have won much attention of film industry and academic circles. The study on "symbiosis" implication and audio-visual language system of Hayao Miyazaki animations can enrich our feature construction of his animations, enrich and refine the mode of animation audio-visual language, explain and analyze ecological awareness in today’s society, and what’s more important is that it can provide rule of animation creation and artistic features for reference for China’s animation growth.This paper mainly analyzes Miyazaki’s trilogy of environmental protection: Nausicaa of the Valley,Castle in the Sky, Princess Mononoke, combining other works that directed and supervised by Miyazaki, such as My Neighbor Totoro, Kiki’s Delivery Service, Porco Rosso, Spirited Away, Howl’s moving Castle, Ponyo on the cliff. This paper employs the technique of audio-visual language analysis, and it also analyzes such aspects as the specific lens language, color language and audio language.Chapter one briefly elaborates research background and significance, research status at home and abroad as well as theoretical subjects that the studies of Hayao Miyazaki "symbiosis" implications involve.Chapter two is mainly about creation background of Hayao Miyazaki’s animations, including process of creation, cultural background that influences his creation as well as his exploration of "symbiosis " implication.Chapter three and chapter four make a detailed analysis of Hayao Miyazaki animations’audio-visual language, including the interpretation of lens language, color language and audio language, and sub-lens and the picture building of each shots, trying to summarize the rules of lens language use and features when Hayao Miyazaki expresses "symbiosis" implication in his animations.Chapter five explores criticism and reflection on human nature behind the "symbiosis" theme of Hayao Miyazaki animation.
