The Unearthed of Marquis Yi Tomb of the Zeng State is one of the major archaeologicalexcavations in the second half of20th century. Tomb of Marquis Yi has high academic studyvalue as its large quantity, sophisticated technology and full kinds of unearthed relics. Thelarge amount of bronzes reflect distinct time background, these over ten thousand raretreasures contribute great value of academic study for Chinese history, social development,artistic achievement in fifth century BC, It also has high artistic and cultural value to study theMarquis Yi Tomb culture based on Chu artistic culture.In this paper is takes bronze crane with deer antlers and Bian Qing winged chimera asstudy objects by analyzing and summing up the related academic research achievements ofTomb of Marquis Yi.The paper mainly focus on the winged beast bronze modelingcharacteristics study and involves the winged chimera bronze modeling, the decorationpatterns and craft technology. Comparing the winged chimera bronze with the double wingschimera bronze which was unearthed in Tombs of Zhong Shan State located in PingShancountry HeBei Province and controlled by north XiongNu regime in mid Warring StatesPeriods. Analyzes the decoration aesthetic characteristics of winged chimera bronze andsummarize the society development, aesthetic value orientation, aesthetic ideology,Philosophy of culture and Totem art style. This paper also tries to explore the inspirationmeaning of bronze in Marquis Yi Tomb of the Zeng State to the modern art design.
