The research topic of this thesis is the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions configurationsystem. Guided by Wang Ning’s Chinese character configuration theory and related characterbasic theories, targeting the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions characters edited by XuZhengkao, the thesis uses comprehensive analysis and comparison, computer processing andother scientific methods through the Internet to make a systematic summary of all theinscriptions from the Han Dynasty in terms of character shape and meaning. Try analyzingbuilding blocks of words and their variants, word frequency, degree of justification,configuration mode, the combination type and other aspects, the thesis researches from eachword to the general configuration rules and features of the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions,and compares the conclusion with other periods’ words, providing the basis of the process ofevolution for characters from ancient to modern. The thesis is divided into six chapters: thefirst chapter mainly verifies the significance and feasibility of the topic, and gives acomprehensive description of the configuration system and the research conditions ofinscriptions of the Han Dynasty, and explains the contents, methods and procedures of thisthesis; the second chapter describes collation and analysis of the words including wordrecognition of the sameness and difference, classification and determination of the mainform of different words, which are the preparatory work of configuration systems analysis;Chapter three studies the configuration system of the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions,including shape splitting, component analysis, configuration mode and hierarchy and otheraspects. The chapter begins with the basic shape splitting, layer by layer in inspection, untilthe entire configuration system of the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions; Chapter fourexplains the rationale of the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions conformation,includingheritage type, retaining type, occult type, loss type and reconstruction type divided byidentification degree of the rationale, in a whole grasping the reserved rationale; Chapter fiveintroduces characteristics and evolution process of configuration system of some HanDynasty inscriptions from both horizontal and vertical angle, and makes a comprehensiveanalysis of the shape and the evolution pattern of the entire configuration system of, striving to reflect true face of the Han Dynasty bronze inscriptions in important times; chapter sixconcludes the configuration system of the Han Dynasty inscriptions according to the formertext.
