As the soul of literary works, style is the artistic characteristics and creation tendency of an author, reflecting the author’s artistic temperament and style. Integrated in the language of literary works, style is directly manifested by language. Literary translation should not only accurately convey the original content, but also reproduce the literary style. Highly styled with concise and vivid language, the works of Alice Munro are simple, but always have profound meaning. Based on stylistic marker theory, this thesis aims at exploring the application of the three methods of style translation-corresponding, recasting and discoloring by analyzing the translation of stylistic markers, mainly lexical markers, syntactic markers, register markers and markers of figures of speech in Munro’s short story Train.
