A Study Of The Contemporary Zither Piece Waving Water Ripples

In the developmental process of Chinese zither, current music creationwitnesses the trend of diversification. However, great attention paid to the playingskills by composers doesn’t overshadow the highlight of music itself. As one of newgeneration composers in the21th century, Mr. Tao Yimo created a unique romanticmusic style by combining the concept of freehand creation in Chinese ink paintingwith modern showmanship and appropriate application of western musical elements.This thesis focuses on the analysis of the melody "Waving Water Ripples", one of themagnum opus among Mr. Tao’s as well as a classic piece of music for skills trainingand stage performance.
