In this paper, I'll take a research of Virginia Woolf , and her stream-of -consciousness novel working , focus on the analysis of its modern fiction.Grow up with good education, and full of knowledge, Woolf became a talented person. In her youth, she took the active participation of the"Bloomsbury Group", which is well-known. All of these valuable experiences showed her extraordinary artistic talent and creative characteristics. Woolf is good at use painting,music and other art forms, and combine them with novel writing, try to make the novel writing more poetic and more easier to express the theme of novels. The use of these special methods can be no doubt highlight the characteristics of stream-of-consciousness novel——to emphasize a sense of inner movement of people.In this paper, starting from the text, combined with the corresponding theory of music and painting, trying to analyze Woolf's stream-of-consciousness novel. "To the Lighthouse" and "The Waves" are two representative of Woolf's works. In these two novels, we can see that Woolf spare no effort in the theory of music theories applied to novel structural arrangements, such as Polyphonic,Counterpoint,Sonata,Leitmotif . Meanwhile, the language of the novel is also permeated with impressionist painting which impact her a lot——Bright, light and flexible use of changing. Through a wide range of art forms to carry out a comprehensive, Woolf made her"Novel theory of the future"get more perfect. At the same time, to allow readers to appreciate the combine with different arts, and feel more memorable.
