Personality is a dynamic organizational structure in the psychological system,which can decide a person’s behavior and thought. Person’s thought and action reflecthis personality traits, so that it is very variable. Personality traits are the basic unit ofpersonality. Researchers using factor analysis method to determine the type ofpersonality traits and gradually formed a consensus on the personality of the "BigFive" structure (Big Five). In the1960s,research on the personality traits has becomethe mainstream of personality psychology. Big five personality is the most influentialand widely accepted theory of quality. While, Time-personality focuses on thepersonality characteristics and individual differences under temporal context. It is asteady tendency and character of capabilities in time-related situations, whichfunctions in the adaptation to time-related situations.Customer manager as the backbone of commercial Banks effects the vicissitudesof the organization. Therefore, the research of how to choose the suitable talents forthis job, what kind of person can achieve higher performance, has great realisticsignificance. Personality trait theory is to find the root causes of individual behavior,the purpose of and is used to explain and predict the behavior of people, so in terms ofindividual job performance and selecting talents has certain prediction effect. Thispaper wants to discuss what kind of personality traits the customer manager have canbetter adapt to this job and achieve higher performance. Moreover, we tent to comparethe predictive power of Time-personality and Big five personality for customermanager job performance.Therefore, this article will take JH rural commercial banking client manager forexample to administer personality tests by big five personality questionnaire andtime-personality questionnaire. Through multi-dimensional, multi-method andmulti-paradigm studies, main conclusions were drawn as below:(1) As for the demographic variable, there was significant difference of time-perso-nality on gender, and the difference of Big five personality on gender was alsosignificant. The male’s scores on temporal programming and time management were both higher than female. The female’s scores on procrastination, punctuality,polychronicity and multitasking were both higher than male. The male’s scores onopenness, extraversion and cautious were both higher than female.(2) It showed significant correlation between performance and time-personality.There was negative relationship between multitasking and task performance, and therewas positive relationship between future time orientation and task performance.Temporal programming and time management were positive related to contextualperformance. Time pressure and past time orientation were negative related tocontextual performance.(3) It showed significant correlation between performance and Big five personality.Nervousness was significant negative related to task performance. There was positiverelationship between openness, extraversion, agreeableness and contextual performance.(4) Future time orientation and multitasking were significant predictors of task per-formance. Time management and past time orientation were significant predictors ofcontextual performance.(5) Nervousness was significant predictor of task performance. Openness, extravert-sion, agreeableness were significant predictors of contextual performance.(6) Through the hierarchical regression analysis, we fund that the predictive powerof Big five personality to the task performance is higher than time-personality, and thehe predictive power of time-personality to the contextual performance is higher thanBig five personality.
