The thesis generalized and concluded the study about fathers’ parenting behaviors andchild-father attachment at home and abroad through combing their structures, measuremethods, history and present situation. A questionnaire regard "fathers’ parenting behaviors"based on collected materials by means of reviewing literature, interviewing fathers andobserving two families was designed. Firstly,200fathers whose children were in kindergartenwere distributed the questionnaire, I conducted exploratory factor analysis for the156validdata of the preliminary questionnaire. Secondly,120preschool children’s fathers weredistributed the modified questionnaire, I then conducted confirmatory factor analysis for thedata of the104valid questionnaires. Finally, the reliability and validity of the questionnairehad been tested and the formal questionnaire which contains22topics was formed. Using thesame method, a questionnaire with regard to "child-father attachment" was designed.155pre-school children’s fathers were distributed the questionnaire, I conducted exploratory factoranalysis for the143valid data of the preliminary questionnaire. Then,120fathers weredistributed the modified questionnaire, I conducted confirmatory factor analysis for the95valid data of it. Finally, we examined the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, and aformal questionnaire which contains16topics was formed.Eventually, two formal questionnaires were administrated to232preschool children’sfathers. On the basis of the data, the characteristics of fathers’ parenting behaviors andchild-father attachment, the relationship between them were explored. The main conclusionsare as follows:1. Fathers’ parenting behaviors consisted of four main dimensions: sensitivity, responsiveness, controllability and emotion, While child-father attachment consisted of threemain dimensions: proximity, anxiety and solace. The two questionnaires which had goodstructure, reliability and validity were feasible.2. Fathers’ parenting behaviors were varied as a result of parents and children’s age, parents’ educational background and family income, but they were not varied in terms ofchildren’s gender and the family structure. 3. Child-father attachment behaviors were varied as a result of fathers’ age, familyincome and family structure, but they were not varied in terms of the mothers’ age, thechildren’s gender and age, parents’ educational background.4. After controlling these factors such as parents and children’s age, parents’ educationalbackground, family income and structure, a significant correlation were existed between all ofthe fathers’ parenting behaviors and all of the child-father attachment. Among them, fathers’controllability was negative correlated with the proximity significantly, fathers’ sensitivity, responsiveness, and emotion were positive correlated with the child-father attachmentsignificantly.5. Fathers’ sensitivity and emotion played an important role on child-father attachment, they can significantly predict the proximity and solace of the child-father attachment, whilefathers’ sensitivity significantly predicted the anxious of it. But, fathers’ responsiveness andcontrollability can not predict the child-father attachment significantly.
