The process of socialization plays a significant role for human’s survival anddevelopment. Preschool children spend most of their time at home, so the parent rearingpattern and parent-child attachment are important considerations in children’s developmentof socialization. This thesis examines the relationship among preschool children’sattachment types, parenting rearing patterns, and pro-social behaviors with the methods ofquestionnaire and observation.Questionnaire data was derived from the parents of427preschool children inexamining parent-child attachment types, parenting style, and pro-social behaviors.Another set of the data was collected from60days observation of36children. Parentingrearing patterns questionnaire which covers four dimensions of parenting patternsincluding tyranny authoritative, dotage, inconsistency, and democratic trust, has goodreliability and validity. The pro-social behavior questionnaire achieved a high level ofvalidity and includes co-operative behavior, sharing behavior, helping behavior, pacifyingbehavior, and moral behavior.According to the research, we find that,1). Preschool child’s parenting pattern and pro-social behaviors are well developed.2).Preschool children’s gender, age, primary caretaker, parents’ marital relationship,parents’ literacy, and family income have significant effect on parenting rearing pattern.3). Preschool children’s age, parents’ marital relations, parents’ education, and familyincome have significant effect on the scores of attachment security.4). Among preschool children’s pro-social behaviors, co-operative behaviors appearsthe most times, while pacifying behaviors show the least times. The differencesbetweenthe two behavior’s developments are significant. 5). The preschool children’s background has great effect on pro-social behaviordevelopment. |
