In19th century, after experienced the revolution, Paris Commune event, and Franco-Prussian War. France has entered a smooth of development period. It is an huge transition in social political and literary aspects, various literature thought, and literary genre flocked and up, music language, and music style also have occurred innovations and changes. Romanticism was faded out. Instead of it, impressionism become a new style in European culture activities center in Paris. Debussy(Claude Debussy1862-1918), as one of the impressionism music founder, he broke the classical music that used Pinnacle minor tonality in a long time. His work have not seen the precise structure of classical music, a profound intellectual and logical, romantic music and hot emotion. However, it showed by a bizarre fantasy factor, obscurity and the magic colors. His harmonies fine and smooth, delicate and complex, with new orchestration and rich colors. The melody slightly, feeling cold and airy. What classical music and romantic music are not have. Debussy’s music is very extensive, it includes art songs, piano, orchestra, opera, and many other areas. This article mainly discusses the effects of Debussy’s life around1880-1884on the early music.Debussy’s early music was in a learning phase of exploration, so in this period of music was a mixture of romantic and impressionism. Discussed in this paper, the author from Debussy’s early thinking, creative style and singing as well as further developed in the three aspects to interpret the meaning of the symbolism in Debussy’s early vocal music performance.《The four early songs》, for example, trying to find a link between Debussy and symbolism. To achieve the objective of this paper, the author set Debussy’s early experiences as the start point, and then to understand the factors that influence Debussy’s writing, and then knowing the relationship between the symbolic poetry and Debussy. At last, analyzing the four songs of music to explore how Debussy used his musical language, conveying his understanding of the symbolism as well as through the music to express his artistic conception of the symbolism.
