The rural teleplay country love1-7created by Zhao benshan with the main concept oflove, reflects the economic development of the countryside, the farmers’ livingenvironment, life-style and mental outlook. It is based on the real life of the northeastcountryside, which is pure, natural, with vivid and humorous lines and vivacious roles, andquite welcomed by the general audience, especially by farmers’ favor in north of Chinaafter broadcasting.However, at the same time, sharp criticism from many viewers is also put forward forthe play. The disabled farmer image in the play causes queries from the audience. Expertsand artists point out that to discriminate others’ physical defects is a vulgar and evenunethical behavior. Therefore, how to know the cultural meaning of the series from theperspective of communication studies becomes an important problem to interpret.In this thesis, the researcher speaks up from the background of the broadcasting ofcountry love1-7. Through analyzing the development history of the rural drama, the authorfirstly sorts out the types of farmers’ image, and then analyzes them one by one. Secondly,the researcher discusses the reason and purpose of Zhao benshan to shape the farmers’image in this way. Through the types of defective image creation to cater to popular tastes.Through the new generation farmers’ image, the author consigns the reality of thedevelopment of contemporary rural areas, farmers’ thinking and good wishes. Behind thisartistic creation process, it is the more profound cultural meaning what the transmissionbehavior of the play contains. From the point of view of cultural orientation, urban cultureoccupies the main position and rural culture is marginalized day by day. The play seriespresent the living actuality and the inner world of contemporary farmers. By the means ofself-mockery or even to self-destruct farmers image to make farmers group come back tothe public’s view, which reflected the hegemony resistance of urban culture.
