Emotional adjustment is the process that people manage and change emotional stateof themselves’and the others’. Emotional adjustment ability is the guarantee of emotionalhealth.Cognitive Behavior Modification therapy combined self-instruction, self-monitoring,and self-reinforcement into one strategy designed to increase the ability of disruption control.This research proposed5T therapy to improve children`s emotion-regulation ability.“5T”means transfer, tranquil, think back, think on others`side and to seek for comfortThis study investigated children’s emotion regulation performance, and the influencefactors of children’s emotion-regulation ability by revising The Screen for ChildEmotion-Regulation Ability, and constructing a norm for children’s emotion-regulationability. And then selected difficulties in emotion regulation to participate in5T therapy toexplore the efficacy of5T on children’s emotion-regulation ability through caseintervention.This study mainly used questionnaire and case study method, the results showed:(1) The revised scale included six factors:emotional control, emotionalunderstanding, expression suppression, empathy ability, emotion recognition, cognitivereappraisal, thirty-eight items in total. For the aspect of reliability, internal consistencytest was used and found that the scale achieved ideal reliability: the Cronbach’s α valuefor four sub-inventories and the overall are all above0.5. For the aspect of validity,confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was used to test construct validity. The result showedthat the scale had ideal structural validity. The norm is reliable and valid and can be usedas a standard for children to compare with or data for sequel as to reference.(2) Anxiety children with different demographic variables reported significantdifferences on emotion-regulation ability.(3) There was significant interaction between father educational level, the grade ofchildren on emotion-regulation ability. (4) There was significant interaction between parenting pattern, the gender ofchildren on emotion-regulation ability.(5) Whether the grade, parenting style and gender were influencing factors ofchildren’s anxiety.(6) There was immediate effect of5T therapy on children’s emotion-regulationability.(7) There was immediate effect of5T therapy on children’s social competence.
