Number includes two messages of quantity and sequence, quantity indicate amount,length, or how many, and sequence show sequential structure, level position and so on.This paper inspects the neural mechanism of the process of Chinese quantifier andsequencer. Using the Chinese numeral as the experimental material, the ERP researchrecruit22undergraduate and graduate subjects, and adopt a classical experimentalparadigm-SNARC, which require the subjects to fulfill quantity comparison and sequencejudgment tasks according to different stimulus. The subjects need to compare the givenChinese numeral is greater or less than “五” in the quantity comparison task, while thejudgment change to consider the Chinese numeral is before or after “五” in the sequencejudgment task, their EEG data and behavioral data of reaction time and accuracy would berecorded. Two experiments both use2×2within-subjects design and latin square analysis.The analysis result of EEG data and behavioral data show that:1. Chinese quantifier and sequencer can both active the SNARC effect.2. No brain dominance instrument is found in the process of Chinese quantifier andsequencer, left and right brain are both involved.3. The process of quantifier is deeper than sequencer, especially in frontal area, centralfrontal area and central area. At the process stage after300ms, the incubation of sequencerin prefrontal area and frontal area is advanced.
