Interpretation is also called oral translation. That is, it is to interpret the contentof one language into another language quickly and accurately by the way of verballyexpressing. At the same time, it plays the role of transferring and exchanginginformation with the development and progress of the times as well as interpreting hasbecome a major means of communication between all the countries. It also plays anirreplaceable role in the exchanges and cooperation between China and other foreigncountries. Interpretation can be divided into many kinds of forms and the businessinterpretation is one of them. According to the interpretation conducted under thedifferent situations, it can also be divided into many specific forms. With Chinese andforeign economic cooperation growing, business negotiation has increased as well.Due to there are many differences of different countries in the aspect of culture,etiquette and system, etc. people will encounter many problems when peoplecommunicate. In order to make the negotiations go smoothly, it needs a messengerwho masters two kinds of languages and understands culture differences between twocountries. In this case, the business interpreter is indispensable in business negotiation.He needs to fully understand the impact of culture differences between Chinese andwestern countries on business negotiation interpreters. But also he should play a goodrole as a bridge to promote negotiations in order to achieve a win-win situation.This thesis is divided into five chapters. The first chapter introduces thedevelopment status quo of business negotiation interpretation from China and otherforeign countries and also introduces the structure and the innovation of this thesis.The second chapter, after summarizing all the similarities of different kinds ofinterpreting, it detailed relevant theories of business negotiation interpretation, such asthe definition, characteristics, translation criteria of business negotiationsinterpretation, etc. The third chapter mainly introduces the challenges that businessnegotiation interpreters may encounter during the interpreting. The fourth chapterfocuses on how the cultural differences in business negotiation counterparts influenceon the thinking of the interpreter in interpreting and the ability he needs to possess. The fifth chapter summarizes the full text and puts forward reasonable suggestions.This thesis summarizes relevant theories of business negotiation throughaccessing to much literature and mainly discusses the problems and difficulties thatinterpreter may encounter because of the culture differences through generalizing theproblems happened in the practical application. From which we can know the culturaldifferences have important influences on the business negotiations between China andwestern countries, so business negotiations interpreters should not only possess thelanguage ability and basic professional knowledge of business, but also fullyunderstand and be familiar with cultural differences between China and westerncountries. aiming at providing some theoretical and practical help for interpreters inbusiness negotiation in order to prompt negotiations to go smoothly.
