Talking the30Years was shown in Lanxin Theater, Shanghai, at the end of2008. Henceforth, burlesquer Zhou Li-bo and the Shanghai Style Stand-up Comedy which was established by him are appeared before footlights. Talk shows like Talking the Great Shanghai, A fever of Money won one box office after another and TV Talk Show Weekly Libo Show got enough audience from the whole nation, top to bottom. Meanwhile, study on Shanghai Style Stand-up Comedy is emerging which is studied in terms of cultural root-seeking, performing arts, New Media Communication, Language Features, etc. This thesis sums up several features of Shanghai style Stand-up Comedy in language style, performing characteristic and internal meanings with an instruction of linguistical theories, an analysis on regional culture, based on detailed language materials and quantitative statistics.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is Introduction which briefly introduces the Shanghai Style Stand-up Comedy, including present study, studying meaning, material sources and studying methods.The second part is Chapter One, the Use of Figures of Speech. The figures can be classified into three, based on standards in beauty of well-balance, changing and connection. And with the deep analysis in rhetorical examples, the expressive effect of figures using is clearly outlined. Meanwhile, on the basis of exploring figures of speech, language styles of Shanghai Style Stand-up Comedy which is of implicit style and meaningfulness, forthrightness and sincereness, combination of parataxis and prose, and dynamic rhythms is conducted.The third part is Chapter Two, the Use of Theories in Aesthetics and Linguistics with which performing characteristic of Shanghai Style Stand-up Comedy is turned out to be perfect-imitated, accurately-pictured, smoothly-transformed, and with multiple scenes.The fourth part is Chapter Three in which from the perspectives of pragmatic strategy and culture strategy, to probe deep in the influence of Shanghai culture and analyze the peculiarity in spirit of local-rooted, current affairs entertained and post-modem news deconstructing.The final part was devoted to a brief summary of the whole thesis.
