The piece,"The forth Erhu Rhapsody" has a strong influence by the Xibei folk music, meanwhile, it also plays a really important role in modern Erhu development. Mr. Wang Jianmin, the piece’s composer spend a lot of time to research and analyze Xibei folk music, and used its to compose this piece. Moreover, the musicianship of this piece was very rich, and was quite changeable in playing. The author has a very special angle in terms of performing this piece, it suggest that the performer first need to analyze the musical structure of the piece, and then it will be easier for the performer to understand the complexity of the rhythm and tonality from the piece. It’s also proposing while performing it, the performer need to attach it’s own personalities into this piece, so it will deliver the thought behind the score.
