A Research On Bao Yingao And His Prose

Bao Yingao’s birth and death is unknown. His literary name was Shanfu, titled as Zhongsu. He was born in She County in Ming Dynasty. He was pure,gentle and mellow,famous for his clean-handed morality. He was also upright and knowledgeable,who didn’t do anything hypocritically. In politics, Bao drifted several times, persecuted just because of his identity of Donglin Partisan. In literature, His opuses include Da Li Shi Mo, Cicao Ti Shu Gao,Huang Ming Chen Shi Hui Kao,Rui Zhi Shan Fang Ji. Now, the first two have already not been found. The last two have been collected in Siku Complete Library and Siku Banned Book Series.This thesis studies Bao from his life experiences, traveling and friends, thoughts and arts in his proses. The introduction, briefly narrates the theme cause and significance, the present researching situation, the research methods and ideas, and so on. Chapter One mainly investigates Bao’s extraction, lifetime experiences. Not only includes the source of surname about Bao, but also consists of his family and relatives. Chapter Two teases out Bao’s experiences of making friends. Approximately list several friends who have verification, and mainly introduce the influence of his three friends in the literature. Chapter Three are the focus of this paper. They mainly focus on proses in Rui Zhi Shan Fang Ji, what is divided into two parts:preface and postscript, and biography to be elaborated, hope to have a further research about his ideas and creation. At last, a chronicle of Bao’s life is offered in the appendix.As a representative of a mid-level bureaucrat, Bao showed a involuntarily repressive certain. He ever suffered persecution from the party struggles, and also was rescued. His literature was influenced by the Gongan Group. What’s more, he has his own unique insights. The creation of "shallow, deep, flat, odd"and literary thought about "the moving of the water and the round bead circulate freely " ran through his literary creation. His prefaces,postscripts and biography have some artistic features and ideological value.
