Subjective well-being(SWB) means the individual evaluates the quality of hislife integrally according to his own criteria, it is a significant comprehensivepsychological index which measure the quality of one’s life of comprehensivepsychological indicators.It is also an important indicator of the extent of individualmental health for university students. Mindfulness training is one of the bestintervention programs for improving individuals’ SWB, however, researchers are stillhave some controversy on the mechanism and effectiveness of it. Therefore, this studyused questionnaires and group interventions to explore the mechanism and effect thatmindfulness training made to enhance students’ SWB,the research consists of twoparts:In study1, the researcher did a survey, the subjects of which is486students fromfour universities(Shenyang Normal University, Sichuan University, Henan Universityof Urban Construction and Zhoukou Normal University). Analysis the relationship ofmindfulness, emotion regulation self-efficacy and subjective well-being.Based on the study1and Mindfulness Based Cognition Therapy (MBCT), theresearcher developed a training program for community in study2, studied whethermindfulness training can enhance SWB. There is a experimental group and a controlgroup in the research, the experimental group will had an eight-week mindfulnesstraining and the other one did noting about the research.The results showed that:(1) The three variables(mindfulness, emotion regulation self-efficacy andsubjective well-being) have a significant relationship, and emotion regulationself-efficacy is a partial mediating variable. Nearly one-third of the impact ofmindfulness for subjective well-being is achieved through emotion regulationself-efficacy;(2) The mindfulness training which adds a unit which can enhance emotionregulation self-efficacy can improve the students’ subjective well-being effectively.
