The theory about Four Foundations of Mindfulness(Satipatthana)was born in original Buddhism,which is also one of the most important theories in meditation system.The four foundations of mindfulness includes four parts:the mindfulness of body(Kayanupassana Satipatthana);the mindfulness of sensation(Vedananupassana Satipatthana);the mindfulness of thought(Cittanupassana Satipatthana);the mindfulness of phenomena(Dhammanupassana Satipatthana).Mindfulness training in psychology,a very popular psychological intervention method,originated from this theory,which has already proved to have a positive influence on people's mind.However,at the very beginning of birth,the mindfulness in psychology was de-religious.Thus,if the four foundations of mindfulness in Buddhism differs from the mindfulness in psychology is unknown.This study aims to discuss and explain the four foundations of mindfulness in the framework of psychology.Based on the explanation,the comparison between the two kinds of training in empirical method will be researched.The Five Facets of Mindfulness Questionnaire,the Inner Peace State Scale,and the Global-local experimental paradigm are tested in 43 students tocompare the different intervention effects.The results show that:(1)Attention is the core point in the mindfulness of body.The mindfulness of body and the mindfulness of psychology both can improve the ability of eliminating irrelevant stimulus.And But the mindfulness of body shows significant differences in this kind of ability.(2)Emotion,especially the upekkha-vedana(Neutral feeling)is the core point in the mindfulness of sensation.After the training of the mindfulness of sensation and the mindfulness of psychology,the individual emotions tend to be calm,and there is no difference between the two training methods.(3)Information processing method is the core point in the mindfulness of phenomena.Compared with the participants in the group of mindfulness in psychology,participants who attended the mindfulness of phenomena training can do better in the local tasks.
