As we all know that in vocabulary, the name of one place is a proper noun which be named after the geographical entity of that place including the environment, natural resources and history. Through the investigation of the name, we can often dig into the deeper cultural connotation which hidden behind.This article mainly adopted the research methods language investigation, analysis, classification, statistics, data statistics and so on.Through the study of this paper can be for the whole Dongan places present situation of language and culture,on this basis can also for the research and development of Dongan places provide some guidance functions.This paper is divided into seven parts:The first chapter is the introduction, briefly introduce the present situation of name research in China and the general situation and history of Dongan City. Then explains the content, the significance and methods of this paper.The second chapter mainly analyze the phonetic characteristics of place names in Dongan City through two aspects: syllable and tone.The third chapter makes a more refined discussion on place names in Dongan City.
