The third part of this thesis sums up the cultural value in Lou’s movies through the summary of existentialism in Lou’s movies and the comparative study about new urban film after new millennium,Wangxiaoshuai and Jiazhangke’s films.Lou’s movies present a unique modern urban living landscape and the spiritual world in China. This expression is not trying to flatter the international film festival,but a meaningful thinking about the common psychological disease of our times. His film’s individual style is successful,but he can explore more in the film form which meet the audience’s psychological mechanism. On the other hand, Lou Ye is already a mature art film director and the valuable thoughts in his films should be accepted and appreciated by more and more people.
