| Since the 1990s,China’s urbanization has accelerated, resulting in economic, political and cultural changes.Just as Kevin Lynch,a famous urban planner in the United States, said, cities and buildings are both composed of space, but the scale of cities is larger, which requires a more multi-dimensional and long-term view.To analyze urban narrative in documentaries,we should not only pay attention to the social changes in different periods of Chinese society, grasp the changes of Chinese urban class composition and cultural form, but also pay attention to the relationship between documentary image presentation and narrative strategy,so as to explore a feasible urban narrative methodology.First of all,in the first chapter, the spatial theory is logically related to the urban narrative of documentaries, and the development and evolution of urban narrative in Chinese documentaries are sorted out.Combined with He Suliu’s differentiation of the characteristics of the documentary era,the urban narrative in the documentary can be summarized into three stages: depicting the national image for the grand narrative(1980-1989),showing the concern for the characters in the bottom narrative(1990-2009)and constructing the international discourse in the mainstream narrative(2010-2020).And combined with the social background of each period to summarize the characteristics of urban narrative performance. In the second chapter, the author expounds the documentary narrative of the film and television of the space to build a city, combining sociology, theory of semiotics and film and television content of the text for documentary made symbol representation space, space and the imagine space from three aspects, respectively from the history of geographical space and spiritual space and space for the film and television multiple deconstruction of the space,The interpretation of documentary image space is discussed with examples of single picture, camera combination, the presence and absence of sound, and the symbolic function of symbols. In the third chapter, combining the "deep description" theory of anthropology and taking director Li Yifan’s creative experience as an example, the author analyzes and interprets the creative process of the documentary "Killing Matt I love you",and puts forward a more specific urban narrative methodology including field investigation and multi-dimensional perspective analysis. The fourth chapter discusses the practical significance of narrative documentary city, city space Angle to cut into the documentary narrative can be more in-depth and comprehensive view of city image and the relationship between the social background,so different classes and groups of individuals living circumstances in the city, and current situation of China’s era of change and social observation and thinking. The changes of urban space consist of individual individuals in a city, which in turn affects the lifestyle of individuals. What vision and Angle can be used to describe the complex space of "city" ? How does the documentary make a comprehensive observation of the current situation and changes of the city? What creative space does the director have in the process of recording and expressing images, and what rules should he follow? These are the major concerns of this paper, with these problems to documentary narrative aspect of urban space to discuss, from the documentary text for the existence of urban space to survive under different era subject manner,to the behavior of the individual representation and presentation of space back in urban development,This paper tries to provide some creative methods and suggestions for the documentary images in the city narration. |
