With the development of globalization, cross cultural communication is not a fresh word any more. People from different countries or areas communicate with each other everyday. However, because of different habits, values, religious beliefs or educational modes, it’s easy to get conflicts with each other. In order to solve these problems, people have to take some measures. American humanist Oberg first introduces the team’culture shock’to describe the feelings of disorientation, of discomfort due to the unfamiliarity of surroundings, and the lack of familiar cues in the environment. Lysgaard, S and John T. Gullahorn&Jeanne E. Gulahor make an intensive study of culture shock, they put fowrard U mode and W mode. Later, some scholars begin to study the relationship between culture shock and the study of a second language.In China, corss-cultural communication begins with Chinese Reform and Openning Policy. The number of international students grows year by year. In2013both the number of international students and the number of student nationalities break a record.International students play an important part in cross-cultural communication and their study in China is very different from that in their mother countries. It may be very difficult for some students to adapt to new life. They may become vey upset, worried or homesick. In order to help these students, we need to know their culture shock symptoms and make our teaching and management better. This essay is focus on the symptoms of international students and try to describe three aspects. First, the degree of international students’culture shock.
