The Artistic Feature And Performance Style Of Nantang Folk Songs

Abstract:Nanyang folk songs is one of the most representative and local folk songs insouthwest of Henan province, which incisively and vividly demonstrated the dialect and style ofThe Central Plains. As a kind of Han folk songs, Nanyang folk songs manifest strong artisticvitality and personality. Nanyang is hailed as ‘Town of Music’ because of the brilliant andsplendid musical culture. Nanyang folk songs cover a wide rage of topics, forms and varioussinging methods. Furthermore, for national vocal music learners,singing Nanyang folk songs isnecessary and beneficial.Except introduction and conclusion, This article is consist of four parts:The first part generally describe Nanyang folk songs from both geographical environmentand historical angle, moreover make an analysis and summary to the development status.The second part describes the performance style of Nanyang folk songs in terms of themeclassifications, language features,music characteristics and relationship between sisters art, andmake an analysis of the reason that form and effect the features of Nanyang folk songs.The third part mainly emphasizes the performance style of Nanyang folk songs and make ananalysis on singing forms and methods from the point of national vocal music art.The last part gives some suggestions according to the current situation of Nayang folk songsfrom the aspect of learning and using for reference, inheritance and development.The author expects to facilitate national vocal music singers to accurately grasp thecharacteristics, learn and borrow the singing skills from traditional folk songs,expand and improvesinging skills by analyze and summarize the music characteristics and performance style and it’sbenefit to the heritage and further development of Nanyang folk songs.
