Aesthetic Research Into The Formal Varieties Of The Choral Art

The art of chorus is the embodiment of the consciousness of the masses, and it exhibits the beauty of harmony. It is also the embodiment of spiritual civilization, expressing the emotions of the human soul. The Aesthetic study of chorus is a branch under the category of aesthetics, and it is imperative to conduct research into the various styles of chorus performances, as they are a major branch of chorus. This thesis is just a research attempt at the styles of the art of chorus. The research into the aesthetic qualities of this art is conducive to improving people’s taste for beauty, bettering the whole level of the qualities of the human race, and contributing to the progress of the human society in general.In the introduction, describes the reasons for the author choosing this subject as well as a reference;The thesis is to tackle the topic from three perspectives. First, it gives a brief account of the history of the development of the art of chorus both at home and abroad, and introduces the artistic styles employed in the development of the Chinese and Western chorus. Second, it probes into the various classifications of the choral art from the aesthetic perspective. The analyses of the Chinese choral art are case studies based on the Six Chorus Principles proposed by Teacher Tian Yubin, and much space has been devoted to the aesthetic qualities of the cases. The study of the Western style choral art focuses on the ideologies demonstrated in the World Choral Festival, and on the illustration of the classifications of different groups, based on the writer’s personal experience of attending the Sixth Olympic Chorus, which was held in Cincinnati in the U.S in2012. The writer comes up with ideas of her own about the art of the Chinese chorus. In the chapter dealing with the performing art of chorus, the writer conducts a research into the stage performance of the choral art from the following perspectives:the vocal parts, the character(s) or persona, costumes (clothing), lighting, and sound effects, with pictures and case studies illustrating them. Finally, based on the music of beautiful views of Hans lick,the writer illustrates the three positive functions of the choral art the cohesion function, orientation function and incentive function from the three stages of aesthetic experience one undergoes in attending the choral art, perceptual knowledge, aesthetic experience and aesthetic sublimation, and the positive functions it plays in the construction of the harmonious socialist society.Choral art forms are varied.
