This is A Report on the Translation of Diabetes Public Health: From Data toPolicy. The authors of this book are four famous experts of The National ChronicDisease Prevention of America and Health Promotion Centre. They are K. M. VenkatNarayan, Desmond Williams, Edward W. Gregg and Catherine C. Cowie. TheDiabetes Public Health: From Data to Policy was a research report intended to serveas reference materials for the diabetes studies and published by the Oxford UniversityPress (USA) in2010. The part to be translated is the core section of the book, whichis about the diabetes in the developing countries, the current situations, the diabetesresearches undertake by the developing countries, the methods we should adopt.The report consists of four parts: Part One is a brief comparison between literarytranslation and non-literary translation. Part Two is a brief introduction of thetranslation project, including the project background, language characteristics, and thewriting purpose of the source language and the significance of the translation for thedeveloping countries. Part Three is about the translation methods and the skillsadopted in the process of the translation including medical terminology translation;four-character structure and the complex sentences. In the end, it is a summary aboutthe experiences and lessons gained in this translating process and problems to besolved in the translation project.
