With the rapid development of robotic business all over the world, spreading and learning the related knowledge has become so essential that translation plays a fairly important role in the process. However, the differences between Chinese and English languagecause difficulties during the process of translation. Especially, there are plenty of long and difficult sentences in the report “Robotics and the “New”Supply Chain: 2015-2020”. This thesis aims to study the differences between Chinese and English by translating the report and analyzing the differences between source text andtarget text. The thesis consists of five parts. The first part is task description, this part introduce the background of this task and the choice of the text. The second part is process description, this describe the translation process from translation process, translation process and quality control. The third part is the case analysis, due to the features of informative text, communicative translation has been employed during the translating process. The research method adopted in this thesis is case study. The author collects long sentences in the text as examples and then analyzes translating methods of long sentences respectively based on four main translation strategies: Original Ordering, Cutting, Order Changing and Comprehensive Translation.. The fourth part is the implications, translator learned to make the translation adapt to the expression habit of Chinese language, the chosen translation methods should make the translation accurate, logical and smooth. Especially, the main requirement of translating informative text is to deliver the information to the reader. Besides, use the Computer Aided Translation to improve the translation efficiency and compress translation time. The fifth part is the conclusion.
