This thesis mainly analyzes the series works in different periods of Cindy·Shermanfrom the perspective of medium. Aims to discuss the relationship of interact between thephotography and variety of visually interactive medium.This thesis consists by four chapterswhich are the series works in different periods.In chapter one, the Untitled Film Still istargeted for the changes which brought by medium; the relationship between film mediumand the Untitled Film Still and their problems on viewing, image and duplicate.In chapter two,Cindy·Sherman’s Fashion, Hollywood Type are studied, starting from the relationshipbetween female and dress, analyzing and discussing the relationship among the advertisement,photography, image, consumption and the effect on female’s self-construction.In chapter three,by Cindy·Sherman’s History Portrait to analyze the conceptual photography on painting enlistand raise the question: whether the way the doubt questioned in imaging is an accident ofhistory and fiction, burlesque aesthetic paradigm and the viewing experience itself become anew idol, or some paradigm, some ways of thinking.The last chapter studies onCindy·Sherman’s later works Fairy Tales, Sex Pictures to analyze and explain the effect ofmedium on the notion of fairy tale, taboo, etc.The meaning of watching Cindy·Sherman’sphotographs from the perspective of medium Is to think of the possibilities under thecontemporary media environment. Is it an appendage of visual media or still a mean ofconsumption which still can examine their own. If an art form loses its ability of examineitself by the way of contrasting and informing, this will be the beginning of fall.Benjaminonce said:”Camera……enriches our cognition of living environment, meanwhile, make usbelieve there is still an unpredictable great room.”...
