From ancient time to now, figure painting occupies a very important role in Chinesepainting.Since the twentieth century, the integration of Western painting and different culturesbetween our country and Western, which made our figure painters try and carry on theresearch on how to inherent and make breakthrough of tradition. So how to inherit anddevelop our Chinese figure painting?Today I just wanted to write this paper in order to learn Chinese painting classicalculture again:"Image modeling concept."There are three aspects to discuss image modeling. Firstly: connotation of imagery andphilosophical basis. Secondly:"Image modeling concept" meaning, aesthetic characteristicsand how it reflects in the traditional ink painting. Thirdly: From contemporary ink characterdevelopment and reflection of imagery in the shape of contemporary ink portraits and itsmeaning on portraits. Through this paper, it gives us a deeper understanding of the shape ofthe image, in order to better promote the development of figure painting.
