| In the context of globalization, Chinese film becomes more inclusive and cultural. In terms of country, it is an important carrier of showing Chinese national image, spreading Chinese culture and China cultural soft power. In recent years. Chinese film domestic market develops rapidly. No matter how much of box office or maturity of market indicate a significant decreased trend. On the other hand, the Chinese film overseas box office isn’t stable, showing a clear downward trend. As the second film market in the world, with the agreement on the film signed by China and the United States and a greater impact of Hollywood, the Chinese film market has to consider how to go out better. Meanwhile, Chinese film is not only showing cultural soft power, but also maintains domestic culture.The box office is intuitive to infer Chinese film spread situation. The North America market is not only a climax of global cinema market, but also the most different culture market for Chinese film. Thus, it is more convictive to investigate North America box office data for researching impact of Chinese film. This paper is divided into five chapters, based on Chinese film box office data showing in North America in recent ten years, comparing to corresponding contents. The first chapter clarifies the purpose, significance, contents and methods of the research. The second chapter defines the conception of Chinese film, and states the idea of Chinese film "going out" in general strategy, oversea box office and award situations in21century. The third chapter analyses the Chinese film box offices show on North America in2003-2013, and figure out the issues of popularity in romantic film instead of action film. The forth chapter discusses the Chinese film how to "going out" in typology by analyzing the successful types in external communication, and find solutions.
