Research On The Youth Movement In The Rear Area Of Anti-Japanese War

The youth is the pioneer of the area. The country ruined, the people starving and the nation challenged, under all these inducements, the youth group in the rear area of the war burst into amazing power, whom made a great contribution to the liberation of Chinese people and the victory of the anti-Japanese War. At the same time, the youth group showed striking power in the social movements, therefore it became the main capture target of various political powers, and parties in particular. The anti-Japanese War was the period that Kuomingtang cooperated with the Communist party. In the rear area of the anti-Japanese War, the Communist party and Kuomingtang were not only actively call and guide the young volunteers to throw themselves into the national liberation war from the angle of the national interest, but also were active in leading them to participate into the political and social movement from the perspective of the interests of the parties. The youth movement of the rear area left precious historical experiences and lessons, which provided important practical significance enlightenment for the youth movement today. Therefore, it is of great theoretical and practical significance to the study of the rear area youth movement.The main text is composed of six parts:The introduction part presents the study cause and meaning of this topic, and makes a literature review in recent decades concerning the youth movement during the anti-Japanese War period, and meanwhile gives a definition to the involving concepts used in this paper.Chapter one discusses the rise of youth movement in rear area. The unprecedented severe national crisis, the coming of the second cooperation between the two parties, and the immigration of a large number of universities, all these promoted the rise of the youth movement in the rear area. After the outbreak of the anti-Japanese War, the rise of the whole nation’s youth movement laid a foundation for the starting of the rear area youth movement, especially after the National Government move to Chonqing.Chapter two introduces the main content about the rear area youth movement. It included four aspects:organize and propaganda of the anti-Japanese national salvation movement; the struggle against capitulate, compromise or retroversion of the anti-Japanese War; promotions to the enforcement of the democratic constitutionalism and the movement of the educated youth volunteers to take service.Chapter three mainly explores the influence from Kuomingtang and Communist party to the rear area youth movement during the anti-Japanese War period. It introduces the Communist party’s early understanding to the youth, the Communist party strives for building the anti-Japanese United Youth War Frontier and how to lead the development of the rear area youth movement under the "hidden the cecellent talents"policy. In terms of Kuomingtang, it mainly emphasis on the Kuomingtang’s early understanding to the youth, and the formation of the "depoliticization" youth movement policy; the establishment of the San-Min-Chu-Yi Youth Crops and intensify of the control of the rear area youth movement after the incident in south Anhui.Chapter four is the evaluation of the rear area youth movement in anti-Japanese War period. The rear area youth movement has made brilliant achievement and contained rich historical experiences, but there’s also filled with limitations for various reasons. The study of the rear area youth movement can provide important enlightenment and reference for our youth work today.The conclusion part summarized the paper briefly.
