Be willing to help others is a traditional virtue of Chinese nation. China has a good reputation of being a state of ceremonies, however, we have been repeatedly finding that people refuse to save somebody who is in mortal danger from various reports in news media. Is that phenomena a typical reflection of public moral indifference or just a move due to people’s inability to suffer their responsibilities? This thesis makes a discussion and analysis of that phenomena and we find out that it attributes to both personal and social factors, some of which even can not being eliminated. However, if we allow it to develop as it likes, it will not only have a serious influence on the healthy development and improvement of personal mental ethics, but also even retard the process of socialist ideological and ethical progress. Therefore, it is an indispensable part of socialist ideological and ethical progress to have a good understanding of that phenomena and to find out its causes, thereby providing some practical solutions. Be willing to help others depends on certain situation, and the helper and the person who is asking for helps are critical factors of that situation. This thesis attempts to analyze the current situation and causes of junior high school students’ behaviour of be willing to help others from the three aspects of the situation characteristics, the attitudes of lookers-on and the way that a person asks for help. the study also tries to the find out the influence of gender and social intelligence on juniors high school students’ behaviour by making them as the contextual variables. The authors hopes that we can have a basic understanding of the current situation and causes of junior high school students behaviour of being willing to help others through this study. It is also hoped that further suggestions are provided in the future studies so as to affect the teenagers whose view of world and live are developed in a critical period. We wish to help them establish the correct view of live and moral principles, thus they can learn to care about each other and help each other and adopt the social development in a better manner. In that way, they can get a physical and mental harmoniousness.This studying by controlling somebody’s way to seek for help who is in trouble and having bystanders or not and their attitude to make a real situation to observe students’ behavior. After all, this paper gives its exposition from the following five aspects:The first, more students in situation which is not in emergency and without bystanders and somebody uses body language to seek for help have helping intention.The second, when someone in trouble uses his oral language to seek for help, more students in situation that the bystanders’ attitude is positive have helping behavior than the situation that the bystander’s attitude is negative.The third, more students in situation which is not emergency have helping behaviors than in emergency.The forth, more students have helping behavior when somebody in trouble uses his oral language to seek for help and there are some bystanders than the situation without bystanders.The fifth, more students whose mark is high in social intelligence scale in the situation that the bystanders’ attitude is positive have helping intention and helping behavior than in the situation that the bystanders’ attitude is negative. The same to the students whose mark is low in social intelligence scale.
