It carefully examines Lao She’s poetry creation from1937to1945as well as questions the academic value of the entire Lao She’s works in the perspective of modern free verse writings. The thesis statement is based on three aspects of considerations.First, the studies of Lao She so far have mostly centered in his novels.plays and the proses, which are the popular literary arts. In the modern literature there are massive writers writing the new-styled poems and the classical poems. Yu Dafu has written some artistic high valued classical poems. His most famous poetry whose name is "Farewell to Long’er" which was written in Japan,is almost of the same value with Chinese ancient poetries;Lu Xun writes novels, prose poems and he also writes classical poems;Mao Dun writes novels and classical poems, and also has considerable amount of appraisal free verse writings in the vernacular article theory. Lao She is famous for his fictions however his poetic foundation of basic skills does not allow to belittle. However the academic circles even for the time being have’t really taken to Lao She’s poetry to the entire modern poetry research especially to the modern writer’s classical poems. It creates things especially whether has to integrate the modern literature and the category. The academic circle also has been disputing about this. Overseas researchers also focuses on Lao She’s research in his famous fictions. No matter in literature accepts or the literature research, neither of which has stepped in Lao She’s poetry. To study the entire Lao She’s poetry creation is to complete the modern literature research system, which,is also a kind study to perfect the vacancy of the research of Lao She.Meanwhile it also has some literature significance in the entire modern literature research. Then, along with the Sino-Japanese War literature research unceasingly under the Sino-Japanese War linguistic environment, Lao She studies has become the critical position. The existing Sino-Japanese War literature research focuses on the Sino-Japanese War confronting with the literature creation influence. However it has neglected the great rear area’s daily life of the war.Perceiving Lao She through the Sino-Japanese War time from the daily life as a breakthrough point to his poetry creation will improve the research to be more daily life more philosophical. Looking over Lao She’s entire literature creation, the regulations of his works is totally a history of Chinese modern daily life. His poetry precisely manifests the writer’s daily life, between the daily life and the poetry creation also is one kind of bidirectional interaction. And then,Lao She is an unusual versatile writer. He attempted each kind of literary style in Chinese modern literature especially when during Sino-Japanese War period which is precisely the turning point of him to attempt each kind of literary style writing. His poetry creation during the war period along with other literary styles are not isolated in particular but also infiltrate each other mutually. Contrasts between his poetry and his essay is rather interesting since it interacts each other mutually. This paper excavates the depth of Lao She’s emotion penetrating his works throughout intrinsic moral principles. It as a whole would enrich the study of poetry creations during Sino-Japanese War period.
