This dissertation focus on the poetry depicting the first SinoJapanese war and also created during this war.As a major event of Chinese modern history,the first Sino-Japanese war played an important role in the modernization of China.Just at the same time,the literary ecology and the mentality of the authors took a turn.Closely bond with social and literal backgrounds,These poetry has the quality of a historical record,and therefore,gains unique ideology and artistic traits,which leaves the proceeding innovation on poet writing some valuable legacies.This study is about the research of Ci during the first SinoJapanese war.I started from macro view of the creating of Ci to certain individual works.I believe,by observing the main stream thoughts among authors of Ci and the activities hold among authors of this time,Wang Pengyun was the actual leader of the authors in this period of time,because of his emphasizing the status of Ci as a form of verse different from other forms and his interactive activities of Ci writing with other authors.This conclusion give me a hint of how to explain the turning of Ci writing from mainly imitating Xin Qji to mainly follow the style created by Wu Mengchuang.In this chapter I also closely interpret the works of Wang Pengyun,Kuang Zhouyi,Zheng Wenzhuo,Wen Tingshi.All of them are very important authors of Ci during this time.
