And as one of the important schools in the third generation poetic movement, the school of urban poetry also has its particular value and significance in the poetry history of New Period, especially in China vanguard poetic trend of the mid-to-late1980s.The poets of Shanghai urban poetry school are a group of vanguard poets who own the urban dreams and anxiety. As the whole of a poetic school, they apparently have their own unique poetic concepts and theories. The artistic opinions of urban poetry school is mainly based on the exploration and excavation of the city consciousness and urban spirit, and fighting and surpassing the obscure poets or root-seeking poets by the change and innovation of writing language. As the successor and innovator, the urban poetry school accepts the important mission from the seniors who have tried the city-writing in order to make the city-writing become the important expression method, and attempt to dive the pen into the urban texture and spirit for enriching and brisking up the contemporary poetry. However, in course of trying the city-writing. the urban poetry school is facing many problems and challenges.
