Resilience refers to the individual to take a series of measures to deal with the dynamic interaction with the environment, so that the individual in the face of pressure and dangerous and can quickly adapt to the successful resolution of the process. This research attempts on the basis of previous studies, work out a scale for the medical staff resilience. To accomplish this goal, this scale prepared in strict accordance with procedures performed. First consult widely on mental and psychological resilience and elasticity similar to the concept of research at home and abroad, and on this basis, by summing up the discussion, combined with interviews, open-ended questionnaire, initially identified the theoretical dimension of the medical staff resilience scale. Then, based on the seven theoretical dimensions, on the one hand draw items from those scales which prepared by our predecessors, on the one hand to collect items in the form of self or using survey methods, establish items library. Next, the original items library had send to the experts and the Southwest University PhD in psychology, graduate students for evaluated based on their views on the project evaluation deletion and modification, then formatted the scale for predict. Subsequently, the sample predicted target groups, and through frequency analysis, discrimination analysis, exploratory factor analysis method on the project for further modification and deletion, formed formal test scale. Next, in a wider scope, such as the probability of a random sample, the scale’s discrimination, reliability and validity had been tested. Finally, the scale had used to investigate the overall level of resilience in Chengdu medical staffs. The study came to the following conclusions:the medical staff resilience scale has good reliability and validity, which includes six dimensions of24items, including: self-control, social support, family support, future expectations, tolerance and ability to work. We also used the medical staff resilience scale for empirical validity testing, mainly compared on gender, hospital rank and categories of work, which results showed that:1the scores of the medical staff resilience scale on different sex are significant different, women scored significantly higher than males (p<0.01), and scores of self-control, social support, family support, future expectations, and the ability to work dimensions at the different gender were also significant different;2the scores of the medical staff resilience scale on different hospital ranks are significant different(p<0.05), staffs from Third A hospitals get the highest average score, when staffs from First A get the lowest, and scores of future expectations, tolerance, the ability to work dimensions at the different hospital ranks were also significant different;3the scores of the medical staff resilience scale on different categories of work are significant different (p<0.01), clinical nurses get the highest average score, when non-clinical health workers get the lowest, and scores of self-control, social support, family support, future expectations, tolerance dimensions at the different categories of work were also significant different.
