For the study of early Chinese film history have so many, mostly focus on the text of the film interpretation, aesthetic analysis, directors how to create film and their experiences, so that the film history can not be called the real film history. From the creation to the birth of a movie, worthy of study in addition to the film itself, as well as its derivatives, such as the object of study---poster. Poster are born for the film’s publicity, its communication carriers, expression, aesthetic orientation and so on, are related to the social and cultural lives, which is the film history should contain.In the early of Republic of China, film developed rapidly, people set off a boom named "watch movie", coupled with the prevalence of Western civilization, the rise of advertising culture, printing, photographic industry for the development of Chinese movie poster provides a strong technical support and many kinds of transmission. This article sorted out between1925-1929,110Chinese movie posters, analyzed and summarized the main type text, the original stills type (subdivided into single stills type and multiple stills type), collage stills type, quite clever in combining pictures and stills type, skilled exquisite paintings type (subdivided into traditional line drawing, caricature drawing, western painting drawing and decorative painting drawing) five types. Each type selected more representative of the movie posters, for detailed comparison research, to explore the way of constitute about early Chinese movie posters. According to the film company, the creator in chiefs, the design of the artists, to explore the main factors affecting the formation of Chinese movie poster style. And research the relationship between style of movie posters and urban popular culture, from Chinese movie posters showing the modern urban civilization and urban social etiquette. Finally from the popular of costume film, swordsmen film and traditional image of women in movie posters, analyzes the impact traditional Chinese culture on the style of movie posters.In this paper, the study of early Chinese movie poster, combined with double disciplines knowledge areas of history and design, the way of interdisciplinary thinking, is a fresh and meaningful attempt.
