The Research Of Lonely Consciousness In Anne Baby’s Works

After the Reform and Opening up, with the rapid development of economy,consumption culture becomes the main culture form in China, especially in city.When information dissemination breaks all limitations of space and time, networkprosperity binds everybody in city, consumerism ideology penetrates into everyone’sblood, loneliness has become a necessary experience which consumption culturebrings about. As the representative authoress at the turn of the century, Anne Babydescribes the living on the edge of society and similar love stories about city floaters.As abstinence era sharply turning to indulgence ear, literary works are filled withvarious desires.“Body writing” is replaced by “desire writing”, which has applied inthe text. Fortunately, by using female’s presence to fight patriarchal-centralizeddiscourse, Anne Baby locates her focus in city women, and provides genuine value toreaders. As the first group writers of contemporary urban feminist literature, AnneBaby’s works should not be ignored.Following the constant adjusting and promoting of mass culture, consumptionculture and visual culture gradually occupies the main position in culture studies. Thestudy of psychological desire to literature works can not be separated fromconsumption culture background. The current findings focus on the text itself andignore the creation background. As the most representative contemporary writer, AnneBaby herself and her works, even her own pseudonym is becoming the object ofconsumption. Therefore, this article focuses on Anne Baby and her work, bases uponthe context of consumer culture, strives to combine cultural sociology and literarypsychology, explores the special lonely consciousness inAnne Baby’s works.This paper mainly explores lonely narrative in Anne Baby’s works in terms ofcontent and structure: first, analysis the current social context, clear cause of AnneBaby’s loneliness consciousness; second, it will interpret the reason why Anne Baby’sworks do so well and comb female image and emotion in her works; third, by delvinginto her works and using the most frequent key words, the paper will explore theloneliness in the inner heart of Anne Baby; finally, state literary value and socialsignificance of Anne Baby’s works. This paper will take Anne Baby as an example toinvestigate different connotations of loneliness endowed by the age and demonstratehow to enjoy the beauty of loneliness.
