China will reach the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way in2020. Inthe progress, people’s well-being has gradually become our focal point. The psychologicalstudy on well-being has originated from the west a long time ago. Their studies are mainlyon Subjective Well-being. Nevertheless, the studies in China mostly imitate and integratewestern theories and show little local culture. Thus, the current study tries to use a localpsychology perspective and the qualitative method to explore the traits and sources ofSubjective Well-being of Chinese citizens. The current study used depth interview,common view analysis and questionnaires to develop Sources of Subjective Well-BeingScale for Citizens(SSWBS-C). The main findings are below:1.Subjective Well-being of Chinese has for main traits, diversity, durability, integrality,and phased traits.2. The sources of Subjective Well-being of Chinese are both internal and external3. In the modal of Subjective Well-being of Chinese, economic states and health is abasic guarantee. The internal and external sources has an interactive effect on individual’sSubjective Well-being.4. The reliability and validity of the SSWBS-C are good.
