As one of the most influential archaeological cultures in Neolithic Age, Hongshan culture has long been favored by academe. For its study, experts and academics have done a lot and formed a lot of research monographs. Through studying and researching Hongshan culture, the author finds that most of academics just make a simple inference to the "jade pig dragon" of Honshan culture. No one treats it as a big research content to further explore more deep connotations of culture of it.This thesis, through collecting, collating and comparative analyzing the existing "jade pig dragon" of Honshan culture, and combined with unearthed position of the "jade pig dragon" and the position relationship with the tomb owner, as well as ethnology and other related contents, analyzes and studies the cultural connotations of the "jade pig dragon". We find that the "jade pig dragon" we called everyday should be the "bear snake jade" in fact. Its overall image should represent the snake worship and bear worship of the ancestors in Hongshan. The "bear snake jade" reflects the worship or fear of the ancestors to some kind of jinn which the snake and bear represent. The ancestors hope they can get things they need from jinn, such as agricultural high production, survival of race and strong by the way of serve jinn and pleasing jinn. At this time (During the Niuheliang period), the main function of the "bear snake jade" is religious sacrifices. However, with the passage of time, in the Jiangjialiang period, the cultural connotations of it have a change form religious sacrifices in Niuheliang period to a decoration of ear.
