The oblique cylindrical jade ware, also known as the horseshoe or hoop,is a very important class in the late Hongshan culture, also the typical jade ware in the later period of Hongshan culture. In the sarcophaguses in the lower layer of the rubble tomb and the footstone tomb in the upper layer in the Niuheliang site, there are oblique cylindrical jade wares. The unique shape and unknown function of the oblique cylindrical jade ware have attracted the interest of many researchers.Earlier researcher mostly stayed on the discussion of the single problems such as the basic description of the form features, the preliminary study of typology, and the partial speculation of the function. However, there are still a series of problems such as insufficient collection of materials, inaccurate analysis, and unspecific attribute analysis. In view of this situation, this paper combines all the oblique cylindrical jade wares in the market, further explores the special cultural information that may be contained in which, and conducts a more comprehensive study on it.
